Vehicles consist of a number of complex parts that contribute to the efficient and long-term functioning of buses, rail vehicles, boats and cars. Some of the most important vehicle parts are the engine, transmission parts, steering and suspension, drive axle and brakes. If replacement or repair is necessary, spare parts can be ordered for these vehicle components. Car and bus technology or parts such as brake pads, brake discs, windscreen wipers, wishbones or the car battery wear out and need to be replaced regularly to ensure sustainable mobility. Mudguards, headlights and shock absorbers can also be replaced with new vehicle parts after an accident or in the event of wear and corrosion.

What are load-bearing vehicle parts?

Each individual vehicle part fulfils a specific function. Modern motor vehicles are much more complex than earlier models and are controlled by numerous electronic parts. Some of the components are essential for every vehicle. One of the most important components of a vehicle is the engine. It is the centrepiece of a car or bus and has a decisive influence on its performance. Depending on the type of engine, different types of fuel can be used, such as petrol, diesel, ethanol or electricity. The camshaft contributes to engine control and spark plugs are required to ignite the air-fuel mixture in petrol engines.

A turbocharger can be added to the engine. This vehicle component is also known as a turbo. It is a charging system that drives a compressor with the help of a centrifugal turbine. In this way, the engine exhaust gases are compressed to increase the pressure in the intake system, so that more air is transported into the cylinder and the vehicle's performance is increased.

Another important component is the gearbox. This transmits the power of the engine to the wheels. It contains the various gears into which the vehicle must shift depending on the speed. Transmissions are available in the Fahrzeugtechnik Shop in two versions: manual and automatic. A new gearbox or a repair of the broken vehicle part can breathe new life into even the oldest vehicles.

Spare parts for the brakes of a vehicle

The braking system converts the kinetic energy of the wheels into thermal energy through friction and slows down the vehicle in this way. Drum brakes are still used on some cars, lorries and trains today. This type of brake has a rotating housing (drum) to which brake shoes are pressed. This vehicle component has been partially replaced by disc brakes. With these, the brake disc runs on the shaft and the brake pads are pressed against the brake discs when the speed is reduced.

Failure of the braking system can lead to serious accidents, which is why it needs to be serviced regularly. Whereas in the past the entire system had to be checked manually, today's automotive technology uses sensors to monitor the condition of these car parts. Regardless of whether your vehicle has a manual or sensor-controlled braking system, it is very important to replace car parts such as the brake pads in good time, as they can break with age.

Other important vehicle parts

An equally important component is the drive axle, which supports the drive of the vehicle. It acts as a large rod that connects the two wheels (and the tyres mounted on them). Other vehicle technology components include the alternator, clutch and catalytic converter. Special vehicle technology is used for electromobility. Additional parts, such as car accessories or a trailer coupling, can also be ordered for retrofitting.

Vehicle parts and vehicle technology of the highest quality have been our hallmark for more than 25 years. We are also happy to advise you if you are looking for customised special designs at individual prices.
